President William Ruto’s long-serving aide, Farouk Kibet, has criticised a section of opposition leaders, accusing them of promoting divisive and regressive politics at the expense of destroying the national unity.
Speaking during a church fundraiser at Elgon Estate Primary School in Turbo Constituency, Farouk urged leaders to stop using tribal sentiments to gain political mileage and to front themselves the best to lead this country. He warned that such actions risk eroding the peace and cohesion Kenyans have worked hard to achieve for many years.
He emphasised that President Ruto’s leadership was supported by Kenyans across all regions, not because of ethnicity, but because of his proven leadership and vision to change the country and make comfortable for all.
“All Kenyans backed the President because they saw his ability to lead, not his background. We should continue to support his efforts to transform our country,” he added.
Farouk also criticised unnamed opposition figures for taking their divisive rhetoric beyond Kenya’s borders, warning that exporting negative narratives abroad only hurts the country’s image.
“Anyone who disrespects and destroys their nation on foreign soil does not deserve to lead. Such behaviour is irresponsible and shameful,” he stated.
Farouk further urged Kenyans, especially the youth, to remain focused, respectful, and disciplined during the ongoing school holidays, urging parents to stay with their children as they give them moral lessons for the better future. He challenged students to make good use of the break and prioritise their education.
“Success and a good life come from discipline and respect—for parents, for teachers, and for leaders,” he said.
His remarks were echoed by Turbo MP Janet Sitienei, who described her constituency as a model of unity and diversity. She encouraged Kenyans to remain peaceful and support the President’s development agenda to transform this country in the next five years. The mp started that when the time of campaigns start it will be between the president William Ruto delivered agendas Vs leaders with nothing to offer Kenyans.
Other leaders present at the event included MPs Japheth Nyakundi and Didmus Barasa. The fundraiser supported 31 churches in Tapsagoi Ward.
Sitienei also praised the government’s efforts to uplift communities across the country, urging all citizens to stand firm behind the ongoing economic transformation efforts.
