Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Martha Karua Hold Meeting in Gichugu

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua recently held a meeting at Karua’s home in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County. The gathering was attended by several MPs, including Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri), Jane Kihara (Naivasha), Wanjiku Muihia (Kipipiri), and Kirinyaga Senator James Murango, who accompanied Gachagua to the meeting.

In a gesture of goodwill, Gachagua’s delegation presented a variety of gifts to Karua’s family, including goats, sheep, and farm produce. This meeting takes place amidst rising tensions between President William Ruto and his former deputy, with weeks of public exchanges between the two leaders.

Recently, Gachagua has been hosting a series of meetings at his Wamunyoro home in Mathira, which political allies suggest are part of his efforts to explore new political alliances and a potential vehicle for the 2027 general election.
