Johari window model -A tool for self awareness.
Johari window model is a tool used for raising self awareness among individuals. It was founded by a scientist called Johari thus the name Johari window. It is divided into four and the divisions include:
1.Open area.
These refers to traits and characters that you are aware of as an individual at the same time other people are also aware of.They can include traits like empathy, kindness and honesty.By others being aware, one get to understand how others perceive him or her hence self awareness is created.
2.Blind area
These refers to traits and characters that others are aware and know about you but you you do not know.By others knowing you and you not knowing about yourself gives you a chance to personally grow socially, emotionally and spiritually by receiving the feedbacks.
3.Hidden area
These refers to characters, temperaments and behaviours that you know about yourself and you do not want others to know, instead you hide them.Majorly, they are bad characters like anger, fear , selfish and low self esteem.By hiding these behaviours they get to know themselves better and that is the reason they hide the behaviours.
4.Unknown area
These are behaviours, temperaments and characters that an individual does not know about himself and others also does not know. The behaviours can be made aware to an individual through counselling and peer support
