Harambee Stars Assistant Coach John Kamau Calls for Increased Training Sessions Ahead of CHAN 2024
Harambee Stars interim assistant coach John Kamau has stressed the need for Kenya to significantly boost its preparation ahead of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). Kamau emphasized the importance of holding at least eight training sessions per month to help build the necessary character within the squad to compete at the highest level.
Kenya has been drawn into a challenging Pool A alongside two-time champions Morocco, DR Congo, Zambia, and Angola, making it a tough task to progress from the group stage. Despite the tough competition, Kamau remains optimistic, suggesting that surprises are still possible if the team can fully utilize the extended preparation time following the postponement of the tournaments kickoff from February to August.
Kamau believes that with proper planning and commitment, Kenya can overcome the odds and compete strongly in the tournament.
