President Ruto Storms Bureti: Leaders and Residents Turn Out in Large Numbers as Development Projects Take Centre Stage
President Ruto visit to Bureti is marked by a lot of celebrations as he launches major development projects.Residents were so excited to see him and turned up in large numbers.He went to Panda Polis where he launched panda Polis -Kampala/Bokoiyot-Mabasi road then he went to Kapkatet where he commissioned Kapkatet Modern market and the inspection of Kapkatet stadium.He stated that the town of Kericho will be changed to a City.He promised various water projects in Bureti to be launched in Kapkatet and Litein.
President William Samoei Ruto visit to Bureti has been marked with a lot of celebrations .He started his Bureti tour in Panda Polis then went to Kapkatet where he was being awaited by a lot of residents.There was many leaders from South Rift including the Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir,Kericho Governor Dr Erick Mutai,Kericho Senator Aron Cheruyiot,Bureti Member of parliament,Bomet Governor professor Hillary Barchok,Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei amongst other leaders from South Rift.
He was in Panda Polis Trading Centre which is in Bureti constituency.
He launched the construction of 34 km Panda polis-Kampala/Bokoiyot- Mabasi road in Bureti constituency,Kericho County.
He launched Boito- Kapkatet road which is 91 kilometres and Soin-Roret road.This will facilitate connectivity and facilitate good transport within the region.
He said that 652,000 people in Kericho are registered under the Social Health Authority (SHA) and total of 33 million people in the country are registered.
He said that he will transform Kericho town into a city,5.6billion shillings is being invested in the first 2,200 affordable housing units of a total 5,000.
A special Economic Zone will be established to attract investment and unlock digital opportunities.Youths with digital skills will get opportunities and will get help with global investors.200 million shillings set apart for the special Economic Zone.
Kabianga University medical school will be built in Kericho on the land of Kericho Teachers Training College.1billion shillings has been set for the construction of the modern medical school.
400 million shillings has been set for the water project in Kericho town.This would help the residents of Kericho to get proper water sanitation.
He also said 1.6 billion shillings water project in Bureti to be established in Kapkatet and Litein towns.It will be launched in October.
1.6 billion last mile electricity program will connect 16,000 households in the county.
He commissioned Kapkatet Modern market.The residents were singing and praising the president for the good work.
The were so overjoyed to meet the president.
He inspected the construction and modernization of Kapkatet Stadium.He stated that Kapkatet stadium is a historic place where several activities have been done .He said that in February he will inspect the stadium to see the progress.He handed over the Kapkatet Market to mama mboga and other small traders.This market will accommodate more than 200 traders.The market is one of the 12 that are being built in Kericho County to ensure traders do business in decent and dignified spaces, complete with electricity,water, toilets, storage facilities,cold rooms and internet.
The days of open air markets where traders were exposed to the scorching sun,heavy rain,mud and other conditions are coming to an end.He said that the government will continue to fulfill their promise to mama mboga by delivering more than 600 modern markets across the country.
The Kapkatet Stadium which is a 10,000 capacity facility will feature a six lane running track,a standard football pitch and other modern sporting facilities.
The transformation of Kericho town into a city citing that the government has acquired chelimo estate for the construction and expansion of Kericho.800 million has been acquired from the African Development Bank for the development of Kericho.
He said that he has given 180000 for the construction of student hostels.
Urged the contractor of the Kapkatet Stadium to build a strong fence in Tengecha.
He promised Tengecha girls primary and junior school 10 million shillings, Tengecha boys primary and junior school also got 10 million shillings, Tengecha boys senior school was promised 20 million shillings and Tengecha girls senior school also was promised 20 million shillings.Kapkatet football club were not left behind too,they were promised 5 million to purchase a bus.
The people were so overwhelmed with joy since their requests were heard.With roads being built and students getting education they were excited.
Several leaders talked afterwards including the Senator of Kericho County, Aron Cheruyiot, who requested the president for the expansion of road in Kapkatet since it's narrow and the expansion of Kapkatet town.The Governor of Kericho County also spoke requesting for the upgrading of Kapkatet hospital and the road leading to the hospital.The construction of Londiani and Kericho Referral hospitals will strengthen healthcare in the county.The leaders were thanking the president for the construction of roads and the availability of water through the various water projects.He insisted that residents should register for the Independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission and to get their Identity Cards ready for the 2027 general election.He also urged the residents to reflect him for the 2027 elections.

President William Samoei Ruto's visit to Bureti, Kericho was marked with a lot of joy.The construction of roads ,connectivity to electricity and the availability of water made them very happy and satisfied with the president stating that they will re-elect him for the second time as the president.
