Rift in Nakuru Leadership Deepens as Senator Karanja Hospitalised in London
Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja is hospitalised in London, Governor Susan Kihika has confirmed. Kihika used the moment to wish her rival a quick recovery despite their ongoing political feud. She also urged Karanja to stop using personal issues for political attacks.

Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja is currently receiving treatment in London, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has revealed. Speaking during an interview on the ‘Kogis Corner’ YouTube channel, Kihika confirmed the senator’s hospitalisation while addressing their ongoing political feud.

Governor Kihika acknowledged the strained relationship between her and Senator Karanja, contrasting it with her cordial ties with other county leaders and MCAs. “I can’t lie and say we work well,” Kihika said. “But I wish her a quick recovery — it’s not right to kick someone when they’re down.”

The Governor accused the Senator of turning personal matters into political attacks, referencing past incidents where Karanja criticized her for extended maternity leave and even pushed for her impeachment. Kihika dismissed such moves as un-African and unproductive, saying leaders should focus on service delivery instead of propaganda.

Kihika advised her rival to let her work speak for itself ahead of the 2027 elections. “Don’t be so personal. If you do a good job, people will re-elect you,” she said, urging the Senator to avoid dragging family into political disputes. The long-running feud continues to fuel tensions within Nakuru’s political landscape.
