Uganda Confirms Ebola Outbreak in Kampala, One Death Reported
KAMPALA, Uganda — The Ministry of Health has confirmed an outbreak of the Ebola virus in Ugandas capital, Kampala. According to the health authorities, one person has already succumbed to the virus. The individual, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, is said to have been diagnosed with the virus shortly before their death.
The Ministry of Health has issued a statement urging the public to remain vigilant and follow safety measures, including avoiding contact with individuals showing symptoms of Ebola, such as fever, vomiting, and unexplained bleeding. Health officials are currently monitoring individuals who may have been in close contact with the deceased and have ramped up efforts to contain the viruss spread.
The government has mobilized resources to track and isolate potential cases, with health teams conducting screenings at hospitals and other public places. Authorities have also set up response teams in the affected areas to provide medical assistance and information on preventive measures.
