Legendary journalist and broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela has died. His daughter-in-law, Anne Mbotela, confirmed his passing, stating that he breathed his last at around 9:30 am on Friday after battling an illness for some time.

 Mbotela was a household name in Kenya’s media industry, best known for his long-running radio and television program Jee Huu ni Ungwana, which aired on KBC for 55 years since its inception in 1966. His voice and storytelling skills made him one of the most respected media personalities in the country.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Mwikali, and their three children: Aida, Jimmy, and George. His contribution to the media landscape remains unmatched, and his legacy will live on in Kenya’s broadcasting history.
