President William Ruto’s economic advisor, Moses Kuria, has slammed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over alleged plans to lead protests in the Mt Kenya region.

In a statement on Monday, February 10, 2025, Kuria accused Gachagua of pushing a selfish political agenda by advocating for demonstrations while other regions focused on development. He condemned the call for protests, warning against endangering the lives of Mt Kenya youth.

“I have no problem with political goals, but telling young men from my region to take to the streets and get shot is very selfish,” Kuria posted on X.

Kuria was responding to Gachagua’s Sunday remarks, where he threatened mass protests if Chief Justice Martha Koome was removed from office. Gachagua alleged that the government was plotting to weaken the Supreme Court ahead of the 2027 elections. L
