Ruku Dismisses Kalonzo-Gachagua Alliance, Urges Wiper Leader to Back Ruto in 2027
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has rejected the political alignment between Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, calling it self-serving and unhelpful to the Akamba people.
Speaking in Kitui after being formally installed as an elder by the Akamba Clans Governing Council of Elders during a meeting with 22 clans, Ruku advised Kalonzo to pursue cooperation with President William Ruto in preparation for the 2027 elections. He cautioned that if Kalonzo remains stubborn, the community should not plead with him to change his stance.
Ruku asserted that President Ruto worked hard to secure his victory and cannot be removed after just one term, urging the Akamba community to support him for two full terms.
On healthcare, Ruku accused county governors of obstructing the implementation of the Social Health Authority (SHA) in hospitals, denying that the national government owes counties any outstanding payments. He also blamed governors for medicine shortages and poor health services in county-run facilities.
