TikToker Maria Rish Kamunge Released on Ksh.5 Million Bond Amid Job Scam Allegations
Maria Wangari Kamunge, popularly known as Rish Kamunge, a renowned TikToker and Director of Trustpin Travel Agency, has been released on a Ksh.5 million bond following her arrest over allegations of orchestrating a fraudulent job placement scheme targeting Kenyans seeking employment in Mauritius.
Victims reported paying between Ksh.200,000 and Ksh.400,000 to Trustpin Travel Agency for promised job placements in Mauritius. Some individuals even traveled to Mauritius, only to find themselves stranded at the airport without assistance, leading to their deportation back to Kenya.
Investigations have revealed that a total of 43 victims sent approximately Ksh.12.9 million to the suspect. In response to the alleged scam, angry job seekers recently stormed the Trustpin Travel Agency office along Moi Avenue in Nairobi, demanding refunds and expressing their frustration over the unfulfilled promises.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) urges anyone who might have fallen victim to this job scam to come forward and report the matter at the Central Police Station in Nairobi.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the prevalence of job scams and the importance of vigilance when seeking employment opportunities abroad. Authorities advise job seekers to thoroughly research potential employers and be cautious of any requests for upfront payments.

By the time I had clocked 120k followers, the government orchestrated my suspension through @Teleperformance the company that censors Kenyans on that app.
But they allowed her to grow… pic.twitter.com/sJG1j1gXVz
