President William Samoei Ruto begins today's south Rift Development Tour in Londiani ,Kericho.The residents of Londiani were elated to welcome the president and had more expectations .Their desires were fulfilled as  the president said that the construction of Londiani Referral Hospital would be underway beginning next month as that was their main concern.As the Kiswahili proverb says mgeni akija mwenyeji anapona and that came through in Londiani as the residents benefitted a lot from the presidential visit.

Several leaders were there to welcome him including The Cabinet secretary for the ministry of Roads Davis Chirchir, The Governor of Kericho County Dr Eric Mutai,The deputy Governor Engineer Fred Kirui,The Senator of Kericho County Aron Cheruyiot,Kipkelion West member of parliament Hillary Koskei, Kipkelion East member of parliament Joseph Cherorot,Bomet Senator Hillary Sigei amongst other south Rift leaders.

He launched the last mile connectivity and the construction of the new Sabunit -Kapkondor/Furaha- Hill Tea.This would facilitate transportation and connectivity in the community.

He stated that there is a new contractor for the construction of the road .Stating that the old contractor has problems including being slow.The new contractor would help make the construction faster.

22 billion Kenya Shillings has been set for the building of Roads.

The road will connect tea farmers and other producers to processing facilities and markets,cut travel and transport costs and improve access to schools,health facilities and other services.

 *Agriculture* 

200 million Kenya shillings set for the construction of Coffee milling factory since most of the people grow coffee in Kipkelion.

As of now the cost of fertilizer is 2,500 shillings and by the end of the month the cost of fertilizer would be 2,000 shillings says the president.

Encouraged the residents for the production of coffee in Kipkelion as they are leading.

 *Education* 

The president said that the problems of CBC have been solved including the issue of Higher Education Loan Board .

The employment of many TSC teachers.

The students from Higher Education to get employment.

 *Health* 

The people in Kericho County who are registered for the Social Health Authority are 652,000 and 32 million people in Kenya are registered under the Social Health Authority ( SHA)

3.8 billion shillings has been given by the government to Kericho County.

The Londiani Referral Hospital will be launched in October by the president.

Also Sotik and Chebunyo hospitals will be built.This would facilitate good health among South Rift residents.

 *Sports* 

The Green stadium in Kericho town to be modernised .

Additionally,in Kapkatet a new modern stadium will be built.

He said that the government will work to unite Kenyans and to transform Kenya to a better nation.

Several leaders made speeches including the Senator of Kericho County,Aron Cheruyiot who thanked the President for the good work done and urged him that the residents want a big institution in Kipkelion Constituency and the 18 kilometre Londiani -Makutano road, Kipkelion East member of parliament Joseph Cherorot thanked the President for the roads and told the president to remember schools in Londiani including Londiani Boys and Girls senior school and Furaha school,the deputy Governor of Kericho County Engineer Fred Kirui said that he had the 120 million water project for Kipkelion,Soin- Sigowet.

The community and region have opened a new chapter of growth and prosperity with the commitment to build a Referral Hospital in Londiani later in the year by President William Samoei Ruto 

This facility will play a vital role in providing timely emergency response to victims of road accidents along the busy highway, while significantly improving overall healthcare for the people of Kericho and beyond.

Through their patience and unwavering support, the people of Kericho have reaped the maximum benefits of President Ruto’s administration. 

This is clearly demonstrated during the ongoing development and meet-the-people tour, which has included the commissioning of the Last Mile Connectivity and the launch of new roads such as the 47 km Sabunit - Kapkondor - Furaha - Hill Till Tea access road and the redesign of existing ones to reduce accidents. 

The president said that his has revived road projects across the country by settling the 900 billion debt owed to contractors and enabling them to return to site.He has also launched new projects and as a result more than 6000 kilometres of roads are currently under construction nationwide.

The people of Kipkelion, have warm and gracious welcome accorded to the Head of State. Now that the President has fulfilled his pledges, it is the turn to keep the side of the bargain by voting overwhelmingly for his re-election in 2027.

In conclusion,the president was welcomed in Londiani with so much joy.The residents had so much expectations including the Londiani Referral Hospital which had become a controversial issue.The residents are now happy that the president promised to build the Londiani Referral Hospital in Londiani.
