Elachi Breaks Down in Prayer Over Failing Youth, Calls Out ‘Social Media Spirit’ Leading Kenya
Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi delivered a passionate prayer at the 2025 National Prayer Breakfast, lamenting failed leadership and the moral decay affecting Kenyan youth. She decried the influence of social media and called for national repentance. President Ruto also apologized to the youth, pledging to rebuild trust.

Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi delivered a stirring and emotional prayer during the 2025 National Prayer Breakfast, decrying Kenya’s moral decay and failed leadership, which she blamed for leaving the country’s youth "helpless." She prayed for the redemption of young people trapped in gambling, pornography, and hopelessness, linking their plight to systemic neglect and lack of guidance.

In a bold public confession, Elachi asked God to forgive the country’s leaders for prioritizing money and self-interest over national progress. She said the Executive, Judiciary, and Legislature had compromised Kenya’s laws and resources, praying for divine intervention to restore integrity, transparency, and service in governance.

The MP lamented the collapse of parental responsibility, stating that Kenya’s parents had failed to instill discipline, allowing a generation to rebel. She also called for a spiritual cleansing of the influence of social media, which she described as a force that is "running the country," urging religious leaders to rise and reclaim national values.

President William Ruto, present at the event, responded with a conciliatory tone, appealing to Kenya’s youth for forgiveness over past leadership failures. “To our children, if there is any misstep, we apologize,” he said, pledging to build a renewed relationship with young Kenyans for the future of the nation.
