President Ruto, while laying a foundation stone for the LV Marina housing project in Kisumu on Thursday, said the government will invest KSh3.5 billion in the donated parcel, with the project expected to benefit nearly 1,000 locals. He added that construction is also underway for the Lumumba housing units, targeting over 2,000 beneficiaries.
The Head of State commended Odinga for his patriotic gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring more Kenyans become homeowners. Ruto urged citizens to disregard divisive politics and unite for development.
Odinga, who was present during the event, pledged continued support for government efforts to tackle national challenges. He emphasized that the housing project would include vital amenities such as schools and hospitals to serve the growing Kisumu population.
