Kindiki Vows Economic Liberation to Honour Freedom Fighters
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has pledged to honour freedom fighters by driving economic empowerment and national unity. He praised President Ruto’s leadership and ongoing investments in agriculture and the blue economy. Kindiki also lauded the unity between Ruto and Raila as key to fostering national cohesion.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has pledged to champion Kenyas economic freedom as a tribute to the country’s independence heroes. Speaking during Madaraka Day celebrations at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, Kindiki said the current generation must fulfil its duty by delivering economic liberation just as the forefathers secured political independence.
He commended President William Ruto’s administration for steering Kenya towards financial empowerment, adding that the government is committed to repaying the sacrifices made by freedom fighters through transformative development.
Kindiki highlighted ongoing government investments in agriculture, fisheries, and the blue economy as key areas driving economic growth and job creation. “We are spending more money not only to strengthen value chains but also to support fisher folk and maximise our blue economy,” he said.
He also applauded the unity between President Ruto and Raila Odinga, noting it has helped bridge political and ethnic divides. Kindiki emphasized that a united and inclusive Kenya is crucial for sustainable national development.
