ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo Pledges to Unite Mt. Kenya, Support President Rutos Agenda

ICT Cabinet Secretary, William Kabogo, has promised to work towards resolving the political divisions in Mt. Kenya and fostering support for President William Rutos administration. Speaking at the Annual Data Privacy Conference in Eldoret, Kabogo took aim at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of misleading the people of the region.

Kabogo dismissed Gachaguas criticisms, stating that the former DPs actions were aimed at sowing division while he had been part of the government until recently. The CS pointed out that Gachagua had not raised the issues he now claims to address while still in office, labeling his current stance as disingenuous.

“I can assure you that the noise in the mountain will end. I am heading to the mountain soon, and I will take President Ruto’s greetings which will be well received," Kabogo remarked, expressing confidence that his efforts would help quell the opposition in the region.

Kabogo further criticized Gachaguas political rhetoric, drawing an analogy about being part of a system and then turning against it once out of power. "You can’t be in the kitchen cooking and eating, then get out and start telling people that someone inside there was cooking bad food and asking me to give it to you," he stated.

Kabogos statements come as political tensions in Mt. Kenya continue to shape national conversations, with a growing rift between regional leaders and the central government.
