Mudavadi Declares Ruto Unbeatable in 2027, Rallies Western Kenya Behind President’s Agenda
Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi has declared President Ruto unbeatable in the 2027 elections, urging Western Kenya to rally behind him. He cited growing national unity and recent cooperation with Raila Odinga as signs of political maturity. Mudavadi spoke during the burial of Mzee Aggrey Luseno in Vihiga County, calling for unity and support for development.

Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has confidently ruled out the possibility of President William Ruto losing in the upcoming 2027 General Election, citing his unmatched political strength and a growing sense of unity under the Kenya Kwanza administration. Speaking during the burial ceremony of corporate icon Mzee Aggrey Luseno in Sabatia, Vihiga County, Mudavadi urged the people of Western Kenya to rally behind President Ruto and focus on national development rather than political distractions.

Mudavadi said that although Kenya is currently witnessing shifting political alignments, President Ruto still holds a dominant position heading into 2027. “I have observed the political terrain carefully, and I can confidently say that it will be very difficult to defeat William Ruto in 2027,” Mudavadi stated. He reminded the residents that he had previously guided them through major political transitions, from the NASA coalition in 2017 to the Kenya Kwanza alliance in 2022, and urged them to once again trust his direction as the country moves closer to the next general election.

He emphasized the importance of Western Kenya speaking with one voice and seizing the opportunity to influence the national development agenda by working closely with the government. “Let’s avoid the blame game and work towards unity and development. Our strength lies in staying focused and committed to a common goal,” he said. Mudavadi added that President Ruto has consistently shown goodwill to all regions of the country and that his administration’s doors remain open to every Kenyan, regardless of political affiliation.

The Prime Cabinet Secretary also defended the recent cooperation between President Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga under the broad-based political arrangement. He highlighted their united support for Raila’s bid for the African Union Commission Chairmanship as a clear example of leaders putting the country first. “We are no longer in a political era defined by rigid opposition versus government. Raila made a conscious decision for ODM to work with Kenya Kwanza, and that should be embraced as a step toward national unity,” Mudavadi asserted.

He dismissed those still peddling divisive narratives, urging Kenyans to shift their focus to solutions for national challenges like public debt, the high cost of living, and corruption. “Let us mature politically. The era of divisive politics should be behind us. This country has bigger issues to tackle than personal ambitions,” he added.

Mudavadi also used the occasion to reaffirm the government’s commitment to devolution, which he played a pivotal role in establishing during his tenure as Local Government Minister. He reiterated that the current administration will continue supporting county governments to ensure services reach the grassroots effectively.

In his tribute to Mzee Aggrey Luseno, Mudavadi praised the late corporate leader as a trailblazer who broke barriers in Kenya’s private sector. Luseno served for over 30 years at British American Tobacco, becoming one of the first African directors and a respected figure in marketing and human resource development. Mudavadi said Luseno’s legacy should inspire young Kenyans to pursue excellence and integrity in leadership and business.
