Muturi Slams Ruto’s Apology, Declares One-Term Presidency Goal
Former CS Justin Muturi has dismissed President Ruto’s recent apology, calling it insincere and vowing to make him a one-term president. Muturi made the remarks during Kalonzo Musyoka’s homecoming in Kitui. This comes as Ruto insists he will win re-election in 2027 by a landslide.

Former Public Service CS Justin Muturi has dismissed President William Ruto’s recent apology, vowing to ensure his presidency ends in 2027. Speaking at Kalonzo Musyoka’s homecoming in Tseikuru, Kitui County, Muturi criticized Rutos remarks during the National Prayer Breakfast, saying they lacked sincerity and failed to address the real grievances of Kenyans.

Muturi questioned the authenticity of Rutos apology over the arrests during last year’s anti-government protests. “Take that apology to Sugoi,” Muturi declared, suggesting that Ruto’s vague expression of regret was not enough to earn public forgiveness or secure another term in office.

Ruto, during the May 28 Prayer Breakfast, had acknowledged possible government missteps during the 2024 unrest and offered a general apology. He urged unity and called for less fault-finding and more nation-building, expressing confidence in Kenya’s future.

Just hours after Muturi’s remarks, Ruto reaffirmed his intention to seek re-election in 2027, promising a landslide victory. Speaking in Kisumu, he accused the opposition of lacking vision, saying his administration has a clear plan to transform the country despite growing criticism from rivals and former allies.
