Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Erastus Ethekon has announced that the 2027 elections will be free and fair, with reports from President William Rutos allies that he will be voted back to the second term as possible.

Ethekon, speaking during a breakfast meeting on Wednesday with media stakeholders, said the commission was free and would not work on any directive unconstitutional. The IEBC boss, who admitted to receiving concerns about early campaigns, said they were cooperating with the Attorney General in drafting a new law to help handle early campaigns.

"Towards 2027, personally I do not think there will be votes theft. It is almost impossible, and the possibility of impossibility. But if there are loopholes, direct us so we can close those loopholes. There will be no polling stations," he said. Over the past few weeks, the country has been facing unstable statements made by MPs based on President Ruto.

The leaders, without complaining, have touched on plans to ensure the ruling coalition receives a second term during the 2027 general election in every way. "Oscar (Sudi) says I am not full we will fill, and I say the engine, but we say one thing that it must be filled in any case," Tiaty MP Tiaty William Kamket said. Wajirs representative, Fatuma Jehow, in different activities, said: "We are waiting for the debate to be brought, even if we do not have a vote we will rob her. That is no secret ..."

As the political climate rises as a result of early campaigns, the IEBC is consulting with Attorney General Dorcas Oduor, who was instructed by the Supreme Court to draft new laws on political campaigns to clarify time and address issues related to it. "Access to accurate information at each stage of the electoral process is important for building and maintaining public confidence.

This is why the commission is committed to working with the media," noted IEBC CEO Marjan Hussein Hussein Marjan. Kenya Editorial Association (KEG) President Zubeida Kananu added: "We are concerned about the increase in the tide of political tolerance. Political meetings are disrupted by the hooligans.

The IEBC chairman, who promised to give dates within a week, confirmed that 2027 votes would be held as planned. Assuring all Kenyans to remain calm and trust the commission as they prepare to deliver their constitutional mandate . Now all eyes are set to them to announce the by elections dates.
