President William Ruto has denied the allegations that his government has ignored the bodaboda and mama mbogas, groups that he has often referred to as the basis of his low economic model. Speaking during a meeting with part of the national bodaboda officials in the state House today, Ruto emphasized on higher note that the interests of those under the pyramid continue to be fundamental in his governments policies. "There are many people who make fun of me that I forgot the people of the bodaboda and the vegetable mother in our plan," he said.

"I want to respond to you today. Regarding the bottom-up approach I mentioned, every government policy that this administration has established is directed by the bottom-up philosophy, first looking at people under the pyramid." "In the final election, I increased the status of the boda boda until they became important to the election agenda," he said.

He added that his government continues to commit to protecting their lives. "Thats why today, no one can threaten the business of the bodaboda," he stressed, adding that Kenya should be a country of all, not just the rich. Ruto said the purpose of his administration is to ensure that every Kenyan, from small businesses to large investors, contributes to the nations building. "We want Kenya that everyone contributes and is included, starting from those on the ground and climbing up." His statements come amid public debate and criticism from some opposition leaders, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who questioned the effectiveness of the low -level economy in raising the informal sector. Kalonzo said many Kenyans are becoming increasingly discouraged by the governments promises, emphasizing that the administration has not met the expectations made in the promises of low -income targets.

“William Ruto and his team came saying, We will help the mama mbogas. We will help the youth find jobs. We will ensure that we eliminate poverty,” Kalonzo said. “But in this country now, many Kenyans, I can say, have fallen below the poverty line. And you know the international poverty line is defined as anyone earning less than one dollar a day.” Former deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had earlier criticized that Ruto no longer promotes boda boda riders or mama mbogas in his public speeches.

Today President William Ruto says government aware of what they promised during the 2022 general elections campaigns. Starting that Kenya kwanza is commited in serving Kenyans fully.
