Mudavadi Woos Mt Kenya to Back Ruto for Unity and Growth
Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi has urged the Mt Kenya region to support President Ruto for the sake of national unity and development. Speaking in Nyeri, he emphasized that Kenya’s progress depends on collective purpose. He also cautioned against ethnic-based politics, urging focus on unity.
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi has urged the Mt Kenya region to rally behind President William Ruto in a bid to foster national unity and spur development across the country. Speaking during a church service at AIPCA in Othaya, Nyeri, Mudavadi emphasized that Kenya’s prosperity depends on a united front and collective purpose.
He praised President Ruto’s commitment to the Mt Kenya region and urged residents not to waver in their support, saying the President has shown great faith in their potential. “Many regions wish they had just a fraction of what Mt Kenya enjoys. So work with the President who believes in you,” he said.
Drawing from the leadership of former President Mwai Kibaki, Mudavadi stressed the need to stay focused on unity and development rather than daily political headlines. He warned against political complacency, saying, “If you slip, others are ready to take over.”
Mudavadi also dismissed tribal-based political support, urging Mt Kenya to embrace a broader national vision. “Western Kenya has never produced a president, yet we support the government. Leadership should not be about ethnicity, but about building one strong, united Kenya,” he concluded.
