President Ruto has announced that Kenya's inaugural National Ambulance Dispatch Centre is scheduled to be operational by July.

President William Ruto has announced that Kenya will launch its first-ever National Ambulance Dispatch Centre by the end of July, aiming to transform emergency medical response nationwide. The centre will coordinate all emergency services, enabling real-time deployment and ensuring free evacuations for all Kenyans. It is expected to handle roughly 100,000 emergency cases annually.

Speaking during the 95th St John Ambulance annual parade, Ruto also directed the Ministry of Health to revise regulations to provide St John Ambulance Kenya with Sh100 million in annual direct funding from the Exchequer starting next year. He further pledged 15 new ambulances, to be registered under the Social Health Authority (SHA) so that services can be covered through the national health insurance system.

In addition, the government will donate one acre of land in Upper Hill for the organisation's headquarters and top up Sh200 million to the Sh300 million already allocated by Parliament for its building project.

Health CS Aden Duale, who accompanied the President, reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting emergency service providers and strengthening the country's emergency response framework.
