Wandayi Backs Ruto Over Opposition, Praises Economic Progress

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has publicly declared his unwavering support for President William Ruto, saying he would choose the Head of State “any day, any time” over opposition leaders. Speaking in Ugunja Constituency on Sunday, Wandayi dismissed figures such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Rigathi Gachagua, and Fred Matiang’i as unfit to deliver change.
Wandayi argued that the opposition lacks the vision and capacity to transform the country, insisting that Ruto remains the most reliable leader for Kenya’s future. “If you give me a choice between Gachagua, Kalonzo, Matiang’i and Ruto, I will go with Ruto without any fear of contradiction,” he stated.
He further praised the current administration, terming it a “broad-based government” that enjoys wide support, including from Azimio leader Raila Odinga. According to Wandayi, this coalition is key to the government’s efforts to stabilize and revive the economy.
The CS urged Kenyans to support government initiatives, citing improved living standards and ongoing reforms as proof that the administration is on the right track.
