Communication disorders
Communication disorders refers to impairments that cause difficulty in sending, receiving, processing and comprehending information.Communication disorders are grouped into categories that is,Hearing disorders, language disorders and speech disorders.Language disorders is characterised by delayed development in forms or language and it is divided into two:
1.Receptive language disorders which is characterised by the inability to understanding words or language effectively.
2.Expressive language disorders which are characterised by the inability to produce words effectively.
Speech disorders are also further divided into:
1.Disfluency which is the interruption in the flow of language
2.Articulation disorders which is characterised by omissions, substitution or addition of words in a language.
The third category of communication disorders is hearing disorders which can be caused by various factors including loud noise and injuries to the ear or ear cochlear.
The last category is voice disorders where one has problems with voice quality,pitch and loudness.
