Mudavadi Urges Kenyans Abroad to Uphold Host Country Laws
Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi has urged Kenyans in Morocco to respect host country laws and be good ambassadors. He assured them the government remains focused despite political noise at home. Mudavadi highlighted key achievements like the Affordable Housing Programme and Universal Health Coverage rollout.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on Kenyans living abroad to respect the laws of their host nations and portray a positive image of Kenya. Speaking during engagements with diaspora communities in Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Kenitra in Morocco, Mudavadi emphasized that discipline, integrity, and obedience to local laws were key to maintaining Kenya’s good reputation.
Mudavadi reassured the diaspora that despite growing political noise at home, the government remains committed to its development agenda. He cited milestones such as the Affordable Housing Programme and the rollout of Universal Health Coverage through the Social Health Insurance Fund, which has already registered over 21 million citizens.
Addressing concerns about critics back home, Mudavadi dismissed online political chatter as distractions from a few disgruntled individuals. He warned that some people who previously benefitted from old systems were now attempting to sabotage the government’s new policies.
The Cabinet Secretary also cautioned against behavior that could damage Kenya’s image internationally. He noted that while the 2010 Kenyan Constitution allows for many freedoms, those privileges do not extend beyond the country’s borders. “Do not import bad manners into your host country,” he warned, urging Kenyans to coexist peacefully and lawfully abroad.
