Ruto Hails Calm and Supportive Deputy, Takes Swipe at Gachagua
President Ruto has praised his deputy Kithure Kindiki as calm, supportive, and nationally focused. He contrasted him with former deputy Rigathi Gachagua, whom he accused of divisiveness and incompetence. Ruto emphasized that his government stands for unity and progress, not tribal politics.

President William Ruto has commended his current deputy, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, describing him as calm, supportive, and committed to the government’s development agenda. Speaking during the launch of the Human-Wildlife Conflict Compensation Fund at Meru National Park, Ruto praised Kindiki for being a unifying leader who represents all Kenyans, not just his ethnic base.

In a veiled jab at former deputy Rigathi Gachagua, the president contrasted the two, stating that unlike Gachagua, Kindiki understands government operations and works collaboratively with cabinet ministers to drive progress in infrastructure, agriculture, and education. "I’m proud to have a deputy who is focused, composed, and helps move Kenya forward," Ruto stated.

Ruto revealed that Gachaguas impeachment stemmed from his combative nature and inability to align with the presidency’s vision. He accused Gachagua of being overly concerned with internal operations, even clashing with presidential aides like blogger Dennis Itumbi and PA Farouk Kibet.

He further criticized Gachagua’s divisive politics, branding him a tribalist. “We have no room for those who promote ethnic division and incompetence. Kenya must remain united,” said Ruto, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national cohesion.
